Beautiful weather outside today.
Yesterday was pretty nice. I had my Antrho lecture in the morning to kick things off. I had my first jazz piano lesson with Bruce, and already I feel a lot more motivated working with a teacher again. He's showing me some really cool things with the piano and working with chords and modes and other things. After practicing piano for a while, I went to Cafe Roma and had some coffee and a mozzarella, basil, and tomato sandwich. I also ran into Alex, Melanie, and Arj and many others, and my lunch was abundant with fruitful conversation and social-ness. I printed some readings at school, and then I went to the rec center and had another intense workout, though this time I started to feel pretty burned out. I showered at home, took a quick nap, and then went to campus to practice some trombone. However, I was supposed to meet Lauren for some dinner, and then she ended up being too tired and work out to do anything with me, and from this I got the overwhelming notion again that people are totally flaking the fuck out with my time. It was one of those overwhelming feelings that came over me again that sometimes I just don't even feel important to anybody. I practiced some trombone, but I definitely was not feeling good vibes, so I took a ride on the HOP by myself to Pearl St, with Talking Heads playing on the radio the entire way there. I had a chicken pesto burrito at Illegal Petes, and then I headed to the Draft House for Andrew's show, and I think that's when I started feeling better. The place was packed with a lot of Malina and Andrew's friends from the French Table, and the event was pretty hoppin'. By time Andrew, Danny, Cole, and the other guys took the stage, everyone was pretty psyched, and the show was a LOT of fun. Check it:
They did a really awesome job for their first gig, and apparently they already have their next show lined up for Mardi Gras at the same place! After helping Andrew pack up, Curtis, Sebass, and I rolled over to Liquor Mart after stopping by our apartment really quickly, and we spent the night playing video games and having a couple of beers. Overall, a quality night.
Today's been good so far. I stayed up pretty late last night, and I woke up to Curty watching The Price is Right in the living room. I played some piano, and then I went on a walk and met Cook and Chey at Foolishg Craigs for a bomb lunch. We got some sweets at The Cup, and since then I've been on campus, getting ready to get some work done.
Lots of good things to look forward to this weekend. Laura's coming into town, some more musical thoughts are running in my head...but I wanna get ahead on my papers and readings first.
